
On Sunday 28th September 2025 we hosted a darts tournament It was led by DUNDEE DARTS ACADEMY and was the young lads They entertained the clients the whole afternoon and they had a ball!

On the 1st October it was National older persons day and we celebrated in Harestane with a vintage tea party. We made cakes from that the 40’s era and played the favouyrite music from the 40’s and 50’s.
Some pics for the website of the two Therapy ponies we had last Thursday £ Haggis and Squiggles The residents loved them and enjoyed feeding them apples as a treat.
Some of our residents enjoyed a run to St Andrews. It was a beautiful day and they enjoyed a picnic on the bus.
Barbara Towler was 100 years old yesterday. We celebrated in style with the Lord Provost coming to deliver flowers. He also got up to dance with some of the clients. A great day was had by all, especially Barbara!
We are very proud to announce Harestane Care Home has been featured in The Sunday Times as one of the top ten Care Homes in Scotland in their Care Home League Table for 2024.
The Care Inspectorate ranks care homes on a six-point scale from “excellent” to “unsatisfactory” across five categories of wellbeing, leadership, staff and setting, as well as care and support.
The Sunday Times aggregates these grades into a total score of up to 30 to produce its annual Care Home League Table.

Well done to Maggie, Jaqueline & the whole team at Harestane for achieving this. This is quite an achievement especially considering there are more than 1000 care homes in Scotland.

We are now part of the Dundee activities network. We entered the Easter competition for best Eater card, coming second place. The clients were all invited to a fun afternoon at Janet Brougham House and one of our residents, Mrs Evelyn Davie received a certificate which we have displayed in the home for winning 2nd prize.
On the 16th March we held a silent disco for the clients and their loved ones to celebrate and give a different activity for the clients to enjoy The staff created playlists with genres of music the client could enjoy from the 50’s through to now. We all donned our disco gear and the clients had their neon glasses and led jewellery on to add to the occasion We had a ball !
We booked Paul Thorpe – He is a world-renowned Elvis Tribute Act The clients love Elvis and so do some of the tenants at Magdalen and so we invited them also. He was amazing interacted with the clients and he was unbelievable how much he sounded and looked like Elvis. The clients helped the party with their blow-up guitars and microphones and neon glasses It was a real Las Vegas vibe! He sang most of Elvis’ greatest hits and ended with Viva Las Vegas
Our client Annie Barty who loves Elvis went at the end and gave Elvis a Valentine rose which he was delighted with
