Christmas Raffle raised £1300

Our Christmas raffle and lucky squares held in December raised a huge £1300!!

This was a fantastic fund raiser for Drumdarroch, only made possible by the generosity of local businesses, relatives of our residents, residents of Insch and staff who donated to the event. We had some amazing prizes!

Also, thanks to Angie, who did an amazing job of contacting local businesses for us. Thanks to all who bought tickets and congratulations to all the winners!

Money raised will be used for activities/treats/entertainment for our residents.

Activity afternoon at Drumdarroch

In December we held an Activity Afternoon for the children and grandchildren of our residents and staff.

We wrote letters to Santa, made reindeer food and Christmas crafts. The children sang Christmas songs and

we had a visit from Santa. He arrived in a tractor this year!  Everybody had their photos taken with him and his elf.

It was a fantastic, fun, very noisy day!!  I’ve even heard that Santa wrote back to the letters we sent him!

Employee of the Month – December 2024

Our cook, Susan, is our Employee of the Month for December.

Susan was nominated for being a good home cook, always on hand to help residents with their meals

if they are struggling and knowing our residents likes and dislikes and, not forgetting , her beautiful rock cakes!!

Well done Susan!

Oor Wullie at the Rep

Magdalen House festive show this year was Oor Wulllie at Dundee rep theatre on 14th December.

We found the show very entertaining from beginning to end, we loved the story starting on the train from London to Dundee were oor wulllies lost his bucket, so he is racing to find his bucket with old friends Soapy Wee Eck & Boab, while Basher is also on the hunt for the bucket, with PC Murdoch closely following behind. It brought back a lot of fond memories for everyone in Magdalen house, and they talked about the show for weeks after.
